I tutored part time throughout college as I obtained my B.S. in Biochemistry, both independently and through a company in the greater Los Angeles area. Between 2006-2010 I also T.A'd for multiple college level courses in Biology and Chemistry, including Organic Chemistry. Throughout my graduate program (M.Sc. in Biology, thesis in Microbiology) I continued to tutor in both science and social studies because I find it to be one of the most rewarding ways to spend my time!
I am currently enrolled in the University of Washington School of Medicine program and cannot think of a better way to spend my summer than to work alongside students to help them achieve their potential. Over the years I have worked with all ages, boys and girls from kindergarten to primary school to junior high and high school to college attending adults.
As an extremely results-oriented person, I will work with you or your child to set goals and see that those goals are achieved. Some of my students have gone from Ds/Fs to Bs/As; others have gone on to Ivy League universities. Within the past month I had one student who was close to failing out of chemistry and missing graduation, but he pulled his grade up to a B because of how well I was able to help him do on the final. Also within the past month, I have helped a freshman go from the C/B range to getting over 95% on his past 3 exams.
There is nothing like seeing someone's eyes light up for the first time when they realize they *can* understand a topic and their confidence begins to grow. I do not tutor to do homework for students, but to teach them the skills they need for me to be "out of a job," study skills that will last for life.
Please contact me if you are looking for a dynamic, engaging, results-driven tutor with many years experience across a breath of topics and a wide range of ages. My clients have yet to give me anything but positive feedback, and I look forward to accommodating your situation.
