The title of my profile does not really do my talents as an academic justice. I am a very talented student and I engage in subjects across a wide spectrum. While I was attending Drake University, I was a History major focusing on the nationalist developments throughout modern Europe. However, the great thing about the curriculum at Drake is that it does not let you focus on just your area of interest. My academic background contains a multitude of topics that include, but are not limited to: Politics, Law, History, Foreign Relations, Foreign Policy, Domestic Policy, Sociology, Psychology, and Music. My study habits are what kept me together while in school and I believe that I can effectively pass these study habits along to other students. I am very hands on when it comes to history and very passionate about it. I believe in using primary source documents to fully develop an understanding of the events happening throughout our past and utilizing my analytical ability to see how it will potentially affect us in the present. As a musician I have played with some of the finest Jazz ensembles and wind bands that our country has to offer. I started playing trombone when I was 10 years old and have continued all through my college career. I have played with Drake Jazz I and the Grammy-nominated Drake University Wind Symphony. I have played with artists such as Wycliff Gordon, Wayne Bergeron, and Matt Harris. I have a great understanding of musical theory and I can offer many tips on ear training and sight singing. I am a very easy going person. I grew up in the mid-West and have a great attitude about learning. I look forward to meeting all potential students!
