Dear Students and Parents,

I am passionate about three things: teaching, traveling and learning about different cultures. I've spent over four years teaching and have a teaching degree and TEFL certificate. Outside of teaching I have provided tutoring in math, language, history, reading, and ESL. I also teach beginner piano to adults and children. I believe that learning can be a fun and interesting experience for students of any age and that it should relate to real-life experiences.

I know what it is like to struggle in a certain subject area or try to learn a foreign language and I have taught children with special needs, so I have a great amount of patience and understanding.

I received a BA in Elementary Education in 2008 and have more than 3 years experience teaching and tutoring children of different backgrounds and learning needs.

Phonics

I studied phonics and language arts in college as part of my Elementary Education degree. I have two years experience teaching phonics to students age 5-1st grade. My tutoring method often includes visual aids, hands-on learning and music.

Piano

I spent one year as a music major (piano emphasis) at Moody Bible Institute and have been teaching piano lessons for three years. I have experience teaching both adults and children using a variety of methods including Bastien, Alfred and Faber (Piano Adventures).

ESL/ESOL

I am a native English speaker.

I have completed a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language

I have experience teaching general and business English.

How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
