My name is Casey, and I am a Registered Nurse. I graduated cum laude from Northwest University with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I am now attending Gonzaga University in pursuit of my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Through my undergraduate studies, I regularly tutored students in their science and nursing courses. The sciences I am experienced in include Chemistry (organic and inorganic), Human Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and Diet and Nutrition. I am also proficient in tutoring lower level math (through algebra I). I am available to tutor for any undergraduate nursing course. I received the servant leadership award from Northwest University for my work tutoring other students, and they even hired me for a semester to teach their Microbiology Lab. I am ready to tailor my tutoring to fit your learning needs. I am a hard worker, but I expect those learning from me to be ready to work hard as well, because learning does not happen by itself. It takes effort and dedication. My job is to pave the way for the learning process to occur.
My approach to tutoring starts with learning an individual student's learning styles. This allows students to get the most benefit from the learning experience. I then help students to organize themselves so that learning is structured. Next I help students to find techniques that help them to learn and make learning easier. Finally, I help students to apply class content to their new learning style. In short, I want to help students to become independent learners so that they can succeed in all areas in life, in school and beyond.
