Hi guys, I'm Kiana and I'm fluent in reading, Writing and speaking Japanese with 8 years of Japanese public school experience. I am currently attending the University of Washington. My freshman year of high school, I took a advanced Japanese class(A+) I also scored a perfect score on the Japanese portion of the SAT subject test. I think of creative & fun lessons fit for each student(including games, crafts, traditional food/cooking movies etc) I'm great with test preparation, HW help and for those want to learn or advance in the Japanese language. I will explain step by step, what each word means, examples of when you would use it (and how it may differ depending on who you are speaking to), correct pronunciation, when to use kanji, hiragana & katakana, how it is properly written, etc. I enjoy working with children and teens and am a pet lover.

Here's a little about how I grew up. I was born in Kanagawa,Japan and moved to WA at age 5. My mother is Japanese so at home we mostly speak Japanese. 1st grade through 5th grade I was attending the Seattle Japanese school(where they use japan's public school lessons) in addition to US public school. After 5th grade our family moved back to japan where I attended a Japanese public middle school, Grade 6 through 8. We moved back to WA where I attended a public high school and am currently attending college.

Engaged, patient, and interactive! — Kiana has been a great tutor for our son. She always brings him Japanese food, supplies, etc., as little surprises for before/after the lesson, which he loves. She always comes prepared with interactive tools, such as flash cards, for him to use during the rest of the week. If she feels he is distracted, she will continue the lesson interactively, by cooking or playing a game in Japanese (just a f ...
