I will help you really understand chemistry if you promise to use it for good, not evil. Or I can triage to get you through a class, or a test.

I originally chose to major in chemistry because I wanted to know how the world works. But of course I found chemistry textbooks and many chemistry teachers to be at times mystifying and demotivating. I got a 3.7 at University of Washington despite my serious curiosity and best efforts.

I earned an MS and a PhD in environmental chemistry at MIT in a pretty quick 4.8 years, mostly because I eventually learned how to learn. Since then, I've spent over a decade with science at work in research and policy. I've got great perspective and experience. And I now know that real life chemistry is quite different than the contrived examples in textbooks.

I created and taught six science courses at UW Tacoma, including general chemistry. I mostly taught natural science and environmental policy for non-science majors, using free online resources (except for chemistry.) I got great reviews.

You will find that I have the knack for reexplaining the textbook and bringing concepts to life. I'll teach you the games textbooks play and their patterns, and the rules and tricks to win those games on tests. If you want to really learn chemistry, I'll show you the framework behind those games. And if you wish, I can teach you how to learn so you can pursue any science career with confidence and excitement.
