I graduated magna cum laude from private high school in 2000 with a college prep diploma. I took challenging classes, including AP and college-level subjects, that helped me become a great student and lifelong learner. I tutored in Spanish
and took a fourth year simply because I loved it so much. I took the AP Spanish
test without studying and passed, but I remember having to study hard for the AP English
exam (which I did pass)!
I graduated summa cum laude from Seattle Pacific University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Creative Writing
and a minor in European Studies: Russian
. During this time and shortly after college, I spent hours as a conversation partner with English language
learners and helped them refine their grammar
and accents. I was also a teacher's aide for a freshman university seminar in writing.
I have also attended the Lewis & Clark College Writing Workshop, and have extensive experience writing and editing
for jobs and internships over the past 13 years. I also trained professionally in dance and am well-versed in theatre
When it comes to helping others learn, I am passionate about seeing others "get it" and traversing the chasm from ignorance to knowledge.
I would describe myself as friendly, encouraging, disciplined, and committed. I am creative in how I try explain content and approach material from different angles. I would be honored to help you achieve your immediate educational goals and in the process become a lifelong lover of learning.
I would love to hear from you about how we can work together! Thank you.
