My name is Lauren, and I've just finished up my MS in chemistry at the University of Washington! I love chemistry and science education, and I truly have a passion for teaching (which is why I will be pursuing a teaching certification in the coming year!

Currently I am teaching chemistry at Tacoma Community College, but I am located in the Greenlake area. Please feel free to contact me!

I have 3 years of teaching/tutoring experience with middle school-high school students and 2 year of experience teaching undergraduate general and organic chemistry. I have lots of experience helping people get organized in classes and in education, and I love to help people learn and understand the science concepts that have always excited me!

My main goal is to help students learn to think critically, and to use these critical thinking skills to succeed in every aspect of their education.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Hebrew

I was taught Hebrew from kindergarten to 8th grade, when I could speak Hebrew fluently, and I took college courses in Hebrew for 1.5 years.

Organic Chemistry

I majored in chemistry at the University of Arizona, with a focus on organic chemistry. I tutored organic chemistry in undergraduate, and I took multiple extra organic courses, and I am currently enrolled in my 6th university-level organic chemistry course. I also worked in a lab synthesizing organic molecules (drug targets) for almost three years.

Tennis

I taught tennis from the age of 13 to the age of 18 at a summer tennis academy in Scottsdale, AZ. I know the fundamentals of the game, as well as techniques to increase the skill level of any student interested in learning the game or polishing their skills on the court.
