I believe that learning can be joyful for all students and that my job as a tutor and teacher is to help that joy happen and to creatively cultivate understanding. I am a lover of learning and school, always looking to learn more and to learn with others.
I graduated summa cum laude with 3 years of tutoring students in writing at St. Olaf College, and have since then finished 2/3 of a Masters of Education at the University of Washington. I also have experience tutoring in science and math at high school levels, as well as teaching various subjects at the elementary level. I love working with all different kinds of students, and have particular experience with English-Language-Learners and students with learning disabilities. I love to work one-on-one with students, developing their skills... as well as my own!
I am comfortable tutoring in English, Writing, Math, Science, and French, from the elementary through college levels. I am committed to helping learning be transferable. I want students to come to the right answers, but more importantly I want to cultivate understanding of why an answer is correct and how to come to it.
I am committed to improving constantly as a tutor and teacher, and practice reflection as well as asking for feedback.
I look forward to hearing from you and developing a dynamic learning relationship!
