I am a life-long learner. My love of history comes from growing up overseas in turbulent times. I was in the midst of history and had a real desire to understand what was happening around me.
As a dependent of a Civil Service Engineer, I had the pleasure of living in Cuba, Greece and Spain. From those three homes, I traveled extensively and have continued to do so in my adult life.

I have spent twenty-five years in the book business as a bookseller and working in the business side of an academic publisher. During that time I found myself acquiring massive amounts of education and knowledge with no real outlet. I chose to go back to school and get my Master's in Education to make use of that knowledge.

I enjoy teaching as it affords me the chance to meet new people and to share what I have learned. I love it when students tell me “Now, I get it!” My teaching methods rely on helping the students go from where they are at and build towards new understanding. Between us, we discover how connections are made between events and movements.

I work hard to make learning personal and relevant to every student. My success comes from student’s success. I will do everything in my power to help them become successful.
