Originally from the Eastside, I finished a bachelor's degree at the University of Washington in 2008 in English and Spanish. From 2009-10 I lived in Aragón, Spain, and taught English as a Second Language. After returning to the US, I obtained a master's degree in Spanish/Hispanic studies in 2013. I have tutored students in Seattle, Austin, and Spain in English, writing, SAT/ACT test prep, and Spanish literature and language.
Personally, I'm interested in poems and poetic translation, and I have recently published translations of poems by the Peruvian Blanca Varela. I also spent one month in Oaxaca in 2012 and am familiar with Mexican Spanish as well as Iberian Spanish (from Spain). I absolutely love grammar and am always excited to discuss parts of speech and sentence dynamics with students!
