My name is Stephanie, and I graduated from Stanford University in 2013 with a bachelor of science
in science, technology, and society. I am currently a medical student at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
For the past 10 years, I have taught students of all ages and backgrounds, including those with disabilities and special needs
, and am flexible, patient, and resourceful. As well, I served as the head teaching assistant for one of Stanford's largest and most popular classes, and have been a staff writer for numerous magazines, newspapers, and the Stanford University News Service.
Talk to me about:
1. College admissions and SAT Prep
My expertise includes everything from choosing the right schools, applying for scholarships, to crafting a winning essay
from start to finish. Having scored 800 on the SAT
section and a composite of 2360/2400, I can also provide comprehensive test prep support to those aiming for a high score and have a unique approach to the critical reading section that consistently yields major score increases. Thus, I feel confident in my ability to assist high school students with the competitive college application
I am a native Mandarin
speaker, and am very comfortable working with beginners all the way up to those who can speak well but want to improve their vocabulary
and reading skills. In addition, I have a lot of experience working with ESL
learners of all levels, and feel confident in my ability to teach English
in a fun, engaging way.
3. Subject tutoring
I can tutor a variety of elementary, middle, and high school subjects with mastery. I believe in teaching my students to be independent, responsible, and creative thinkers. I will not feed them the answer, but give them the tools and confidence to seek out the answers and then ask questions about the process.
My preferred tutoring region is in Green Lake, although I can travel as needed. Contact me today to discuss your needs, and I will do my best to help you!
