As an experienced tutor, I know that it is important to have good credentials to best help my students in their academic pursuits and my work experience shows that I am an expert in what I do. For instance, I have been a certified online tutor for the past year and have worked with the department of defense's military families with writing, proofreading, reading comprehension, and college counseling. I also have worked with K-12 students and college students on these topics. From this job experience, I learned how to work with students of various ages and backgrounds, and also mastered how to approach students with different levels of learning. In addition to this experience, I was president of my own Prehealth Club at the University of Washington and have gained insight on the admissions process with medical school. I have also worked with high school seniors on their personal statements to apply to undergraduate college with a program called MESA (Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement) at the University of Washington. So, I know how to help tailor students' applications in regards to their personal statement.

In addition to these experiences, I have earned many outstanding awards. For instance, I have been awarded on the Quarterly Dean’s List at University of Washington at least once for 3 years in a row. I also was accepted in various honor societies at the University of Washington such as the Sigma Alpha Lambda National Honor Society, Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society, Tribeta Biological Honor Society, and the Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society based on my academic achievements. I understand what it takes to be a successful student and I want to be able to share what I know and help improve other students' educational path.

Career Development

My career development focuses mainly on the healthcare and scientific community. During my college years, I was President of the Prehealth Club at University of Washington Bothell and I was mentored for 1 year by a faculty member who currently has an RN and BSN degree and a faculty member who earned his PhC in Neurobiology and Behavior; so I know what students need to get into the nursing program and scientific graduate schools in particular. I also attended and hosted workshops for medical school admissions and financial aid at UW Bothell through my club with my officers. I currently have a Certificate in Medical Assisting, so I also know how to help students develop their career in that particular field.

College Counseling

I have worked for as a Certified Online Tutor and have worked with numerous students with college counseling, including the Department of Defense's military families for a little over a year. Also, I was President of a Prehealth Club at my undergraduate college and worked with students on how to approach undergraduate curriculum. At one point, I was also part of the Advisory Board with the Director of Centers of University Studies at University of Washington Bothell and influenced him to establish the Biology program at that campus, which is now running. So I know how to mentor college students in achieving their best in college, and I also know how to mentor high school students in trying to choose the right path for their education.
