Hello! My name is Katherine, and I would love the chance to help you understand your science courses. To give you some background, I just recently completed my Human Biology, B.S. major at UCSD with a 3.98 major GPA. As a pre-med student, I recently took the MCAT and scored a 14/15 on the biological sciences (biology and organic chemistry) portion and a 12/15 on the physical sciences (chemistry and physics). Aside from school, I have studied cardiovascular disease in a stem cell lab at UCSD School of Medicine, and just recently started working on autoimmunity reserach in Seattle.

While at UCSD, I developed a unique approach to learning. I believe establishing a strong foundational understanding of science is paramount to catalyze success in subsequent biological courses.

I have always been elated to help my peers in classes. I have been told that my explanations are straight-forward and enthusiastic. Ultimately, I would love to help others find such affinity for this amazing field by showing them science from a new perspective.

Katherine’s subjects

Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Nutrition, Organic Chemistry, Physical Science, Physiology
Biology, Chemistry

I am qualified for genetics because I have taken upper division genetics at UCSD and received an A. I also have taken molecular biology and other relevant courses. Furthermore, I have experience with many molecular lab techniques in genetic manipulation, so I can provide real life examples. I love this area of biology, and I would be elated to help anyone master it!

I am qualified to tutor in Nutrition because I took a Metabolic/Clinical upper division Nutrition course at UCSD and received an A+. Nutrition is one of my favorite aspects of human physiology, and I would love the opportunity to tutor it!

Organic Chemistry

I completed the organic chemistry series at UCSD and the o.chem lab with straight A's. I love the subject, and found that it changed my approach to school as I believe a thorough understanding of organic chemistry is essential for future success in biology. I helped my roommate as a tutor for her last two quarters in Organic Chemistry and she was much more successful.

UCSD- Revelle (Human biology )

Best of the Best! — Katherine is a phenomenal tutor; I would recommend her to anyone who is struggling with any kind of chemistry/biology-related course. She is very sweet, kind, patient, and I was very impressed with her knowledge of the subject (she helped me with Organic Chemistry-- I think that speaks for itself). Even though I was not within her driving distance, she suggested meeting up half way at a Starbucks ...
