Throughout my years as a student, I have always had a love and passion for teaching.
I am a Junior at Seattle University right now working on an undergraduate major in Humanities for teaching with a K-8 endorsement and math and psychology minors.
My future plans are to get a Masters in Teaching at Seattle University along with my teaching certificate. My goal is to become an elementary school teacher along with a private tutor so I can pursue my dreams of teaching higher level math as well (algebra through calculus).
I have done many hours of volunteer work in my community as a tutor, working at my elementary school's after school homework program, a tutor at my local library in the King County Library System StudyZone program. I have also volunteered as a one-on-one tutor at Lake Washington Girls' Middle School
I have also worked at a Middle School in a math classroom as well as in their after school homework program.
Presently I am working at an Elementary School as a teacher's assistant during school and running the after school Kindergarten Brain Train program where we work with kids ages 5-6 on literacy and mathematics. I also ran the math section of our 1st grade program prior to switching to the Kindergarten program.
I also worked at Kumon Math and Reading Center for 3 years.
I not only have volunteering and work experience, I have also done an internship in a Kindergarten classroom where I spent 3-4 hours daily for 2.5 months. I made lesson plans and taught them in the class as well.
Overall, I have a really strong love and passion for teaching and tutoring and I have made it a big part of my life. Every student that I have worked with has become a part of my life and I always form strong bonds with each one. I look forward to hearing from you, whether you are a parent or a student, and creating a bond between us by helping you, the student, succeed not only in your classes, but in life as a whole.
