Hello! My name is Ellie. I'm a Psychology/Literature major at Reed College, and have learned a great deal about the Humanities in school. I've been a Test Prep tutor, a Russian tutor (I am a native speaker), and a Writing tutor in college. I also have experience working with elementary school kids on Reading and Writing skills. Literature is the love of my life, and I have received awards for my essays in high school and for poetry in a national competition, and have worked as the Editor of my school's student newspaper.
I have a natural love for tutoring and for people. I love learning, and think that the greatest gift a tutor can give to a student is the inspiration to see the beauty of the subject that they are studying - as the student's excitement grows, their anxiety about the subject is naturally conquered. From this point on, the student can begin to let go of their fears, to gain great self-confidence, to enjoy tutoring sessions, and to take control of their own learning!
