Hello All! I am currently a fourth year medical student with some extra time before I head off to residency in the summer. I'm going to be an OB/GYN, so science, math, and health are my specialty. I speak french, and feel comfortable tutoring thru the high school level.
To start off I believe in setting the context. I like to know where the student is at, and how they feel about the subject in general. Then I work with the student, and with their materials to not only help them learn the material, but to learn how to use resources, and how to explore options. With math and science in particular I believe in approaching all problems systematically so that when you find yourself flustered there is always a set of tools you can fall back on.
A tutors primary responsibility is to give the student the confidence and the strength to say "I can do this!".
