My name is Jerry, and I can work with you to achieve your goals.
I have an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and hold both a Master's degree and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Washington.
I am retired from Bellevue College (formerly Bellevue Community College). I taught there from 1993 to 2009. I was on the Social Science faculty, where I generally taught Sociology. Also, I developed and taught courses in American Studies, and I taught in the Psychology program. In addition, I taught both Statistical Analysis and Introduction to Computers and Applications in the Business Division.
I have also taught younger students (4th to 8th grades) in supplementary schools. I have also worked as a volunteer tutor in the Seattle school district, working with middle school students on reading and study skills.
I try to create an atmosphere in which students become eager to learn, not simply to get a grade but to develop their minds and imaginations.
