Highly skilled German, French and Italian tutor

Hello Everyone,

If you are interested in learning how to speak German, French or Italian, then I am the right tutor for you.

As a native American English speaker I well understand the challenges we American's face when learning another language. I know how to make learning another language fun and easy.

I started learning German in 1985 when I was 23 years old (you are never too old to start learning another language!). I went on to major in German at the University of California at Berkeley and have used the German language ever since.

While at Cal Berkeley I also learned and mastered Italian and spent many a wonderful day in beautiful Italy speaking Italian.

Most recently I managed a project near Chartres, France. My French was quite rudimentary when I started, but by the time I was finished my French had become quite excellent (yes, you can even learn a language at 49 years old).

What I wish you all to know is that I have a ton of experience with the German, French and Italian languages, and I would be honored to help anyone who wishes to learn these languages, too.

American History

I have long been fascinated by the American experience and by extension American History. My studies of Political Science, Comparative politics and International Relations has grounded me with a deep knowledge and appreciation of American History (politics and history go hand in hand... you must know and understand the past to know and understand where we are today as a Nation). I am a voracious reader and have an extensive library of American History books.

German

I speak, read and write German with native like fluency. I lived in Germany from 1984 to 1985 where I also earned a German Language Proficiency Diploma from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet in Munich (1985). I also have a BA in German from the University of California at Berkeley (I graduated with honors in 1989).
