International Students: Want to write stronger essays???

American History

My minor at university was American History. I particularly enjoy teaching it from a variety of perspectives, including minority issues and treatment of indigenous populations.

Writing

Writing well in English is defined by clarity, logic, structure and using the smallest number of words possible to express one's meaning. This is true whether the writing is creative or academic in nature.

ESL/ESOL

Teaching English as a Second Language refers to teaching a class that consists primarily of people who speak the same first language. Teaching ESOL refers to teaching a class of people who do not share the same first language.

Government & Politics

The structure and forms of the American government, including the Consitutional basis of the United States. This includes the division of the government into its three branches and the role of each branch.

It also includes the study of political parties and the current two-party system; its advantages and disadvantages, with examples taken from current events.

Proofreading

Proofreading means to review the structure of a paper and then to remove all errors, major or minor, to create a smooth reading experience. The goal is to produce an error-free document.

Public Speaking

Teaching Public Speaking means tutoring individuals to become comfortable with speaking to a group, whether that means preparing a speech, or presenting proposals in a work setting.
