I believe in making learning fun. Students have individual ways of learning. I use different methods of teaching. Some students learn best by becoming involved in projects or experiments with a hands-on approach. Other students learn by reading and taking notes or by discussing what they have read. The method that best suits the individual student's learning may include a combination of methods. I treat each student as an individual, and between us, we create an individualized learning plan.
I remodeled a high school science lab and made a hands-on lab for elementary students. The lab was set up similar to the way a children's museum is set up. There were different areas for Earth science, physical science, astronomy, life science, meteorology, and oceanography. Each week all of the classes K-6 had science in the lab.
I also taught Health and Food & Nutrition in high school.
I am retired from teaching in public school, but I love teaching.
