I hold a B.F.A. (illustration) and an Ed. M. I am certified to teach art K-8 in Washington, Virginia and New Jersey. STEM Arts (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Visual Art) are my passion.
I have developed and taught art curricula for grades K-6, animated science films for NOVA, served as an archeological artist abroad, and illustrated science and math texts. I have also created stage sets for a dozen elementary school productions and designed one school's award-winning city-wide parade float.
I deeply enjoy mentoring children who seek extra art or science time, and particularly those who wish to display science projects to best advantage.
My formal training is in Technical Illustration, Basic Design and Layout, Line Drawing, Watercolor Painting, Light and Shadow, Color: Tint and Shade, Paper Mache. I am self-taught in the sciences and in the optical physics of anamorphic art. I am also a multi-award-winning art toy designer and manufacturer.
