Hello,
My name is Briana, and I completing my degree in Physics with an emphasis in teaching at Seattle Pacific University. Upon earning my degree, I plan to earn my Masters in Engineering at the University of Washington and, afterwards, engage in Teach for America as a high school Math and science teacher. I believe my major as well as past experience have taught me how to effectively help students gain confidence, interest, and knowledge in their studies. I have learned to tailor my teaching to each student's learning style.
I have been tutoring since 11th grade; however, I have also been teaching in a class setting for over a year. This is my second summer working with SAI Summer Algebra Institute, which teaches a range of math to junior high and high school students. This school year will also be my second as a Chemistry TA and Physics TA for my university.
Outside of the class, I enjoy working with kids as well. I volunteer as a tutor at Rainier Avenue Church and on the National Society of Black Engineers.
I look forward to working you and you family as well.
