I have been lifting weights since I was 12 years old, and can definitely guide someone and provide a program for those that want to get lean or build muscle.
I worked at UCLA Special Services for 4 years and assisted students with guidance and career development. I helped them with applications, general counseling, and taught them how to construct a strong resume and cover letter.
I have been an avid chess player for over 30 years.
I am an accomplished painter and sketch artist with work showing in galleries in Seattle and Los Angeles.
As an accomplished painter who has shown in several galleries and been published in books, I know that sketching and drawing is a necessity before you put the oil on canvas. I draw and outline each canvas and understand figural as well as landscape drawing with pencil and charcoal.
I have worked with students with special needs for four years while I attended UCLA. I worked with all types of students with special needs including those with Dyslexia. I read books on tape, assisted them with their term papers, white papers, and writing assignments.
I have tutored English to ESL students from Venezuela in the past because of my vast knowledge with Spanish as well. I understand the obstacles and difficulties that ESL students have when trying to grasp such a difficult language as English. Patience and the ability to understand each individual's challenges is most important when teaching English to ESL students.
I am a graduate of UCLA Theatre and have acted and directed in films and television productions.
I have worked in Film and Television for over 20 years including working at the major picture studios such as Sony Pictures Entertainment. I have not only acted in film, but have directed film and video, and know front of the camera as well as the business behind the scenes. I have also earned awards such as Telly Awards for film production and commercial work.
I have been a certified oil painter for over 10 years with work showing in accomplished galleries in Seattle and Los Angeles. I am also published in a recent book called Contemporary Painters released by Schiffer publishing.
I was on the UCLA Speech and Debate Team and have vast knowledge in regards to public speaking in front of audiences and large groups.
I have won several awards public speaking and have done several presentations in front of large audiences including motivational speaking and business presentations for the big mass retailers.
While at UCLA, I worked in the Special Services Department and worked and helped students with all kinds of disabilities. I also lived with three roommates in college who were legally blind. I have all kinds of experience with special needs, and work well with children.
Having been a straight A student through high school and at UCLA, I believe I have a lot to offer in regards to helping students learn better study habits, not cramming, and how to retain information, improve memory skills and retention. I balanced an extensive program at UCLA while also being involved with extra curricular activities including the UCLA Speech and Debate Team. I still managed to graduate with honors, and believe that I have excellent study skills.
