My name is Eric H. As a certified public accountant and current student of advanced mathematics beyond calculus, I provide tutoring in
1) Mathematics from arithmetic through linear algebra and differential equations;
2) Undergraduate accounting coursework required for eligibility to sit for the CPA Exam; and
3) Computer applications from Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and QuickBooks accounting software.
My work with math students is customized based on the needs of each individual student. In addition to help with homework, we work additional practice problems related to particularly difficult concepts, as well as short lectures simplifying those concepts when class lectures have been difficult to understand.
Accounting tutoring is often sought by introductory level students to simply get through the general business requirement, which usually requires some financial and managerial accounting.
My tutoring and classroom experience is diverse. I tutored low-achieving 6th grade math students as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Pasco Public Schools, taught economics to Hanford High School seniors as a Junior Achievement volunteer, and tutored lower-level undergraduate accounting students while studying for my CPA.
I have 10 years of experience in professional accounting and finance, including public accounting, low-income housing auditing, individual and partnership taxation, banking, and construction. I became a Washington State licensed CPA in 2009. Currently, I am taking classes in linear algebra and differential equations, preparing to pursue an accounting doctorate.
