I would like to work as a tutor because I understand how important it is for students to be academically prepared during high school in order to be successful in college and beyond.
I currently work as an academic counselor to students and families who are preparing for college.
One of the most prominent components of our program is the academic support students receive through tutoring. Students receive tutoring in all subjects, from Chemistry to Statistics.
While I was pursuing my Masters Degree in Developmental Psychology, I worked as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of California. I helped teach college-level courses on Psychology and Latin American Studies. My master's thesis examined the predictors for academic success for college students from minority backgrounds.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Washington, and during my time as a student there, I was a Spanish tutor for several college students.
It is my hope that I can help students be academically and emotionally prepared for success when they go on to college.
