I'm an extremely knowledgeable, creative, and patient tutor. My methods vary depending on learner goals, values and learning style. However, in general I aim for student-centered lessons by developing individual learning strategies (how the student can improve on their own) and raising student consciousness of the structures at play during all aspects of language. (e.g. the specific uses of a semi-colon, the pronunciation confusion of "can" vs "can't", or the general formula for a persuasive essay.)
First and foremost, I value student interests and feedback and try to reduce interference (whether internal or external) to better facilitate recall and retention. This means I believe a good teacher must cultivate a positive learning environment as well as a positive learning relationship. The less time a student spends worrying about environmental factors (external or internal), the more effective their learning can be.
