Patience is key when it comes to tutoring. Commitment to results should be important to both tutor and student. I believe tutoring should be a partnership in achievement - finding the best approaches to understanding the material. As a Howard University graduate (Washington, D.C.), I went on to complete my Master's in Mechanical Engineering. As a tutor, I understand my role through years of tutoring all ages and backgrounds. I began tutoring in undergrad and continued throughout my college career; even tutoring grad-level courses like differential equations. Education is extremely important to me. I believe everyone should have access to a good education. I'd like to continue being a resource in that endeavor. I love math. I am also an accomplished writer. I look forward to working with you. You know you've found the perfect tutor when your 15 year old son goes ahead and books the next session on his own. The first thing he said after working with Tene, "She taught me an easier method to solve the problems." My son's grades in Algebra 2 have improved along with his self-confidence in math. I'm happy, he's happy - it's a win-win situation!!
Tene F. is an accomplished instructor that assisted my granddaughter in realizing her potential and defining her goals. Great teacher.
Being 57 I didn't think I could pass algebra, But she believed I could. I finished with a 97. What else is there to say...Thank you so much Tene and I will recommend you as I have already...
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Tene F. passed a background check on 8/5/13. The check was ordered by another user through First Advantage. For more information, please review the background check information page.
After sending a message to Tene, you will be able to order a new background check for $7.99. As part of your tutor selection process, we encourage you to run updated background checks. Please also review the safety tips for hiring tutors.
