I have been an instructor for 15+ years teaching Adobe software for design and game development students at three local schools. I have also taught 3ds max for game development programs at the same three schools, Art Institute of Seattle, ITT Technical of Seattle, and IADT of Seattle.
I am proficient in the current versions of: Photoshop and Bridge - in addition, I am able to help with other CS5 creative suite programs. In the current version of 3ds max, I am proficient in modeling, texturing, lighting, rigging, and animating as-well-as many other max features.
I am a patient instructor. I listen in order to understand your questions before answering them. I will help you to understand the terminology of these programs so that we are both using the same, industry/software-based vocabulary. Also, I believe it should be fun to learn these programs, and I encourage exploring them to find new ways of using the software.
All of the programs listed above are rich in features. So, one of my practices is to assist my students in understanding how to learn on her or his own. In this way when there is no one to answer a question concerning CS5 or max the student is able to find answers for herself or himself. She or he can also apply this ability to learning other software in the future. I also focus on helping the student understand the underlying concepts of the software so that he or she has the ability to reason out where and how to apply them.
