I have used Flash as a visual designer with limited Actionscript 2.0 for over 8 years. I have also taught Flash at Seattle Central Community College. I can provide access to my portfolio.
I have worked with InDesign for more than 10 years. I have used it to design/produce documents, a book, create posters and other print collateral, and as part of the comps design process in web design.
I have used Adobe Photoshop in web and print design work for more than 15 years, both as a photo/image manipulation program and in production work. I have also taught Photoshop at Seattle Central Community College.
I have written a number of articles for Helium, eHow, and Examiner.com on career subjects like freelancing, networking, and creating/using resources. I hosted networking luncheons for Digital Eve for more than two years, and co-organized the Web Design Meetup for another couple of years. I also have a number of Best Answers on LinkedIn, and have taught a class on Web Career Strategies. Finally, I have worked in permanent, contract, and temporary positions over the past 20 years, through agencies and solo. As a result, I understand and communicate effective practices for resume writing, reputation management, and the use of social networking to boost one's networking efforts.
I have done desktop publishing, in the form of basic DTP and the professional capacity of graphic/print design and production, for 15+ years. I have used several programs, such as InDesign, Pagemaker, Quark, and MS Publisher. I have planned, designed and produced hundreds of client-driven marketing projects: advertising, publications, promotional displays, web design/content, forms, etc. Developed effective procedures, templates, and shortcuts to promote efficient design workflow.
I have used Dreamweaver, as well as other web design tools like HomeSite, Frontpage, Crimson Editor, etc., for 12+ years. I currently teach web design and related programs at Seattle Central Community College, and I have designed and produced a number of websites, including my portfolio and curriculum sites, using Dreamweaver.
I have used MS Windows since the first PC with Windows came out. I currently used Windows 7 and also have experience in Vista, XP, and earlier versions. I also teach MS programs at Seattle Central Community College.
My skills in public speaking include round table and panel discussions/leadership in situations like writer's conferences, teaching/instruction in the community college classroom, and leadership of sessions in career-related conferences like BarCamp.
I have 15+ years experience in web design/production, UI/UX/interactive design, project coordination, and content creation/writing/management. Focus is on usability, cost-effectiveness, win-win relationships, customer-driven solutions, and a communications big-picture perspective. In addition, I currently teach web design and related programs at Seattle Central Community College.
