With a Ph.D. in English and a B.A. in History, I have taught college-level Writing, Literature, and Humanities courses for over twenty-five years. I have also tutored students of all ages in ESL-EFL, Writing, Reading, and the Humanities.
For me, the student is at the center of a learning process for which I am the facilitator. My talent is in finding the unique strengths and weaknesses of each student, then strategically aiding and guiding the student's individual growth and success. Whether working with eighth-graders on American History, with high school students on Writing, or with college students on ESL or Literary Theory, my focus is on the intellectual development of the student in addition to his or her performance on individual tests or papers.
Because I also believe that the student-tutor relationship should be built on mutual respect and shared goals, our first meeting will be a no-pressure, free consultation.
