My name's David, and I recently relocated to Seattle from Miami, Florida. I earned my Ph.D. in Neurochemistry from the University of Miami, my Masters from the University of Colorado, and my undergraduate work from the University of Alabama.

I have a lot of teaching and tutoring experience. As University faculty, I have taught numerous classes (Biology, Biology Lab, Chemistry, Chemistry Lab, Neuropsychology, and Psychology). While working at the University of Miami I have authored and co-authored several papers which have been published in various scientific journals.

My skills are distinctive in that my specialty is turning something that seems complicated, into something simple. I teach tricks to save time and help you to answer the question "Why am I learning this?" or "When will I ever need this?" I have tutored math, English Algebra, Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. The best compliment I have had is that I "make learning fun."

Biology

I have a bachelor's degree in biology. I majored in pre-med and graduated with a 3.9 gpa. I was researcher at the University of Miami in neurochemisty and worked as their pre-med program coordinator. I have been teaching science for 15 years.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been tutoring elementary education for the past 10 years. I have extensive experience in dealing with children and special needs children. I can assist Elementary School students with English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Study Skills

I teach study skills to all my students in conjunction with whatever subject area we are working on. All students need help with organization and time management. It is a skill not always taught at school or home. Having a certified teacher come in and work one on one with your student in this area gives them skills that will benefit them all the way through college.

Chemistry

I have a bachelors in chemistry and biology, and I have taught both organic chemistry and general chemistry at The University of Miami and The University of South Florida. I also have a solid background in biochemistry, physical chemistry and quantitative analysis.
