My name is Taylor, and I am a 25 year old college student. I am fluent in the Spanish language after having served a two year mission for the LDS church in Orlando, Florida. I was fortunate to have learned Spanish from speakers of all Latin American countries. The summer after my mission, I took a 320 level Spanish class at BYU in Provo, Utah. After completing this class, I received 19 credits of college Spanish. I speak Spanish whenever I am able and with whoever is willing. Learning a language takes time and dedication, however there are easier and quicker ways to do so.
My philosophy is that conversation and repetition are key and that they prevail over mind-numbing book work which can often be redundant and ineffective. Think about it like this, when a child is learning to speak, he or she learns by what is seen and heard rather than referring to a textbook. It is extremely beneficial to learn in a natural environment as a child would. I feel that I can create a similar atmosphere.
