Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Criminal Justice

My Bachelor of Science degree is in Legal Administration, which includes coursework in case briefing, legal analysis and various law concentrations.
I have worked in the law enforcement field for over 20 years as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, supervisor, ACCESS (criminal records) instructor and union representative. I am well-versed in court procedures, researching, writing and filing legal briefs.

Photography

I have been a documentary filmmaker for about 5 years, working with various editing suites. I also use a still DSLR in conjunction with the films and also to create my own graphics.

I also write music interviews and shoot my own concert stills, model portfolios and compositions focused mainly on natural settings and people, but have shot product macros, metals and general interest.
I use a Nikon D90 with a variety of variable and prime lenses and have experience with smaller-format fixed cameras.
I use Photoshop CS5.5 for editing and Premier as my NLE.

Video Production

I have been a videographer for about ten years and am currently the owner of Trinity Productions, a studio that specializes in music videos and documentaries.
I am self-taught, attending classes given by industry professionals, practicing my craft for many hours and analyzing the results. I wrote, directed and produced a short drama which won the 'Audience Favorite' Award at the 2009 Washougal Film Festival as well as many commercial spots.
I have a variety of equipment, including lights, still cameras and audio hardware.
We are currently in production of two documentaries, to be released late 2013 and 2014.
