Hello there students!
I am Amber. I have been tutoring for about three years now, primarily in English, Math, and Biology, but I have experience in other matters as well. The way I tutor my students is by first figuring out what learning style (visual, verbal, logical, etc.) best fits that specific student. Once we establish that then our session will officially begin. I like to establish a relationship with my students so that they can feel comfortable with being around me. I want students to understand that tutoring does not mean that you are dumb; it means that you as a student have recognized that you need further assistance in a certain area, and you will benefit from that help in the long run.
There are two quotes that motivate me to be a better person each and every day and hopefully they will help you. "I don't believe you have to be better than everybody else. I believe you have to be better than you ever thought you could be." - Ken Venturi and "Be a yard of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected." - Steve Jobs. The first quote is going to be how I motivate you, my student, to forget about being better than everybody else and just worry about being better than you were yesterday, or an hour ago, or even 20 minutes ago because your biggest competition is yourself. The second quote refers to not only how I push myself but how I push others to reach their maximum potential. If you are exuding excellence, dignity, humility, and integrity; other people will not only take notice but they will also want to follow you and learn from you so that now you are no longer a follower but a leader. I plan to bring out the best in everyone I meet and I cannot wait to meet you.
