THANK YOU for contacting me, I will be back in touch with you in less than TWO days.

I just finished graduate school and will be awarded my Master's degree in Education, with a GPA of 3.34. I decided to tutor while I am waiting to complete my student teaching. My degree is focused on teaching grades K through 12. I have already taken my endorsement tests for social studies, but my background in Philosophy makes me a great candidate to assist with any Humanities subject. I have tutored elementary students with Sylvan in both English and Math. The strategies I've been taught work well with all students. Working with my step son has taught me how to work with special education students as well. My undergraduate studies were in Philosophy and my degree is in Restaurant Management. Interested? I provide the first tutoring session FREE to ensure that we have a comfortable match, and I don't charge for my travel time to the our tutoring locale.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

Teachers in grades K through 6 are required to teach all students all subjects. I have assisted elementary students in both Math and English as a tutor with Sylvan. Often times students need additional assistance with a particular area. Tutors help students with the area they need, an effective tutor is both patient and attentive to help the student in the area they need.

Social Studies

I have passed the WEST E for Social Studies. Social Studies requires the student to understand Civics, Economics, Geography, U.S. History, World History, Social Studies Concepts and study skills. This test is required for Social Studies teachers to be certified. My test scores for this test are below.
