I am a Washington State certificated teacher with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I majored in Special Education and am state endorsed K-12. During my teaching program, I worked with students ages 5 to 18 years old in a variety of subject areas, including reading, writing, math, social studies, science and study skills.
I am extensively trained in the Response to Intervention methodology focusing on pin-pointing areas of struggle, designing individualized instruction, monitoring progress, and assessing results. This is exactly what a Tutor needs to do!
For the past 3 years, I have worked with students one-on-one to facilitate academic understanding and growth. I also have extensive experience working with students with special needs, primarily in a public school setting.
Before attaining my teaching certificate, I worked with youths at a Therapeutic Boarding School, a Waldorf school farm in Italy, and a Wilderness Survival Program. I look forward to helping your student gain confidence, skills, and excitement about learning!
