I am currently working in the field of Information Technology and have quite a bit of experience walking through basic computer learning and troubleshooting. I have taught quite a few adult learners how to use computers, as well as other more recent technological devices and interfaces (e.g.; cell phones, MP3 players, Facebook, the Internet in general). I enjoy assisting people in learning more about technology.

Study Skills

Having been a high school teacher for many years and having had to learn about studying the hard way, I believe I have an excellent set of skills to pass on to students needing assistance with study skills. I can teach about note-taking, highlighting, the basics of skim reading, and also about discerning what works best for oneself so that focusing on the best possible studying strategies becomes easier.

Swimming

Swimming is one of my favorite ways to exercise. I am a self-taught swimmer. I have learned how to do all four strokes, but I perform and teach breaststroke and freestyle the best. I specialize in beginners and intermediates who just want to learn to swim. I am CPR trained. For swimming only, I only take one adult student at a time.

Art History

Art History was my first love in college. I travelled to France to live and breathe the same air as the painters, sculptors and artists of old. I am still enamored by this subject and thoroughly enjoy talking to people about style, influence, impact and effect of art on the culture around it.
