I am a versatile young artist in the Seattle area. I hold a Master's of Music in Flute Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with and a Bachelor's of Music in Flute Performance from the University of Texas at Austin.
I am currently enrolled at the Cornish College of the Arts in their Artist Diploma program focusing in Early Music. I have appeared with the Detroit Symphony, Ukiah Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Healdsberg, Dearborn Symphony, and the St. Claire Shores Symphony. With the St. Claire Shores Symphony, I held the piccolo position for the 2004-2005 season. In 2005, I was the first prize winner of the South Eastern Michigan Flutists Association young artist competition, followed by a performance of the Nielsen Flute Concerto with the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Kypros Markou in 2006.
While in Austin, I worked with movie composer Hanan Townshend and can be heard on the movie soundtracks for Terrance Mallick’s Tree of Life and To the Wonder. During my time in San Francisco, I started to develop an interest in early music.
Winner of the 2012 San Francisco Conservatory of Music Baroque Concerto Competition, I performed C.P.E. Bach’s Concerto for Flute and Orchestra in D Minor on baroque flute with the SFCM Baroque Ensemble. I also performed at the 2012 BFX Festival in Berkeley as a member of Ansambl Luython. I have performed in San Diego with the Pacific Bach Project and in San Francisco with MUSA and the Albany Consort. On baroque flute, I have received coachings from Greer Ellison, Stephen Schultz, Janet See, Philippe Allaine-Dupre, and Sandra Miller.
In January of 2013, I was appointed Artist in Residence with the Concerts in Marin concert series. This included organizing recital programs including works for flute and guitar, baroque chamber music on period instruments, wind quintet, as well as small chamber works with flute and other wind instruments.
I was on faculty with UC Berkeley’s Young Musician’s Program from 2011-2013, prior to moving to Seattle to study early music. Currently based in Seattle, I am cultivating students and building a private studio. My primary teachers have been Timothy Day, Marianne Gedigian, Jeffery Zook, and Janet See.
