Hi I'm Josh. I am from the greater Seattle area. I am a person who loves learning and teaching. I am currently in college, studying the field I love and have great respect for: mathematics. I have over 7 years of experience tutoring students in all levels in Mathematics. My goal is to earn a Ph.D in math to enable me to teach college level math. Also, I would love to study and research to publish something significant to the field. On top of all that I really enjoy teaching others about this great and very applicable subject. Through my 7 years of tutoring, I have managed to help my students come to a greater understanding and appreciation for the subject. I myself know what it is like to be lost in numbers and difficult calculations, but though hard work and dedication, I was able to conquer my biggest enemy and now my biggest passion and life work. I had many students who were in my situation and hated math but, with working with them giving them the proper skills, motivation and logic they have come to understand and able to do math on their own. My goal is not to get you or your student hooked on a service but provide you or your student with the tools, knowledge and the intuition that it takes to be able to problem solve and do math on your or your student's own. Tutoring with me you or your student's program is custom-tailored to meet academic goals and needs. With assessments that provides valuable insight into your or your student's academic needs, I create a custom learning plan to address those specific needs. I keep you or your student engaged and motivated to learn. Ongoing evaluations and program updates ensure learning is kept challenging yet never frustrating. I understand that everyone learns math differently, and successful learning requires a focus on the individual. I work hard to pinpoint the essential math skills needed to take math on with confidence. My unique and custom approach to math tutoring will: eliminate homework stress, improve your or your student's performance in school, and build your or your student's confidence for success now and in the future.

I am a really good resource and would invite parents and students to contact me with any questions or help. I will be more than happy to help where I can. I am currently offering tutoring in Elementary Math, Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, differential Equations, Physics and more. I hope to hear from you soon and hope that I may be given the chance to help you or your student with mathematics and other subjects I work to make you independent of anyone other than yourself for your classwork.

Corporate Training:

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is emphasizing practical applications and those interested in an Applied Academics. Students will develop mathematical reasoning and communications skills emphasizing problem-solving, self management. These skills are aligned with basic Algebra skills.

The topical areas covered include mastery of operations and application of skills in polynomials and rational expressions; graphing rectangular coordinate systems; solution of systems of equations; and problem-solving. I have help many students and am currently a tutoring areas of math at PHS.

My Goal is that students should be able to
1. Solve and graph linear equations and inequalities
2. Solve and graph quadratic equations
3. Solve problems algebraically
4. Understand and apply rules for exponents
5. Predict, compare and analyze data

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is the culmination of the process in acquiring the fundamental skills of algebra and geometry. This course provides additional strategies in mathematics to prepare students. Core content includes the acquisition of skills and the application of concepts in linear inequalities, polynomial functions, composite and inverse functions. Learning outcomes include exponential and logarithmic functions, domain, range, asymptotes, probability, and trigonometric functions. I have help many students acquire and master these skills. I currently am a tutor for this subject at PHS.

Differential Equations

I am in school studying mathematics working on graduate work. I have done much studying of ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations. I have taken this course and really love the subject and would like to help others master it as well with the knowledge and mastery of the different types of differential equations as well as the many methods to solve them.

Geometry: The typical areas covered will include Geometric topics, and selected topics from: Figures in Two and Three Dimensions; Ratio and Proportion; Scale Drawings; Communication Skills both oral and written, Using Signed Numbers and Vectors; Using Scientific Notation; Understanding Precision, Accuracy and Tolerance; Solving Problems with Powers and Roots; Using Formulas to Solve Problems, and Solving Problems that involve Linear Equations. I have helped many students acquire and master these skills. I am currently am a tutor for this subject at the local high school.
