I am a certified K-12 teacher with 20 years of experience teaching a variety of subjects. I graduated with honors earning my Bachelor Degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Education. Also, at Pacific Lutheran University I earned a Master Degree in Special Education; with a supporting area in Sign Language.
The majority of my teaching experience is at the secondary level; working mainly with junior high and high school students. I have taught a variety of subjects to include: Life Science, Earth Science, Reading, Writing, Sign Language, Health, and Physical Education. My teaching experience at the elementary level mainly entails working with students to help them improve in the areas of Reading, Writing, and Math. I also have experience tutoring college students in Anatomy and Physiology; which is one of my main specialty areas.
For individuals looking for someone who has experience in sports; I will gladly assist you. Personally, I have received numerous awards and participated in Varsity Cross Country and Track Field at the secondary level and college level. Plus, I have 20 years of coaching experience at the junior high school and high school levels in Varsity Soccer, Track and Field, and Cross Country.
My teaching experience includes working with a variety of students from diverse backgrounds and a variety of learning styles. In addition, I have experience teaching special needs students and developing specially designed instruction.
My hope as a tutor is to create a warm learning environment that is efficient and effective. Plus, my main goal is to individualize instruction to facilitate learning toward helping students reach their goals and instill confidence.
