I graduated this May from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and will be attending medical school at LECOM this fall. I will also admit to being a nerd when it comes to grammar, writing, and math. I think that the most effective way to tutor is to understand the best way students learn and to be able to teach the material they need to understand in a format that makes it easier for them to absorb the information. Whether that means coming up with an analogy to explain how chemical bonds form, challenging my math student to a times tables race, or explaining that, yes, they will use these skills in the real world someday, I am always trying to come up with new ideas to make tutoring both fun and productive.
I scored a 2130 on the SAT (760-reading, 730- math) and an 800 on the biology subject test (SAT II). 31 cumulative score on the ACT.
