Everyone has a story to tell and a style of telling it, but for some reason many people don't know how to put that into a written form. I do! As a lifelong writer, journalist, and public speaker, I can help you overcome writers' block and share your ideas. I'm an accomplished historian, too, so if your project requires research and organizing notes, I'll coach you on that, as well.

My preference is for what I call a "conversational" style of writing -- it's easier to read -- but sometimes the circumstances call for formal grammar or journalistic style. Whether it's an essay, autobiography, press release, or speech, you and I will find the appropriate style.

Not only am I a history buff, but also a woodworker, sportsman, and marketer. My credentials include:

>> Bachelor of Arts from Long Beach State University, where I was Journalism Graduate of the Year
>> Magazine Editor
>> Webmaster of two websites
>> Author of a nonfiction book
>> Member, Accelerated Learning Council, Fountain Valley School District

I'm patient, persistent, and resourceful. I coached baseball for 24 years so I know how to determine an individual's skill level and work within it. I'm am a non-smoker and have no religious agenda.

Let me help you become a better writer.

ASVAB is a measure of apptitude and general skills to help the military assess where you might best fit. As a researcher and reporter, I've gotten pretty good at a wide range of subjects, so I can help you develop the areas where you are weak. There are study guides and programs that we can do together to prepare you for the test. The objective, of course, is to allow you to enter the exam venue prepared and confident.

I know and understand the formal English Composition -- with all the i's dotted and t's crossed -- but I also know that language is really taking your thoughts and putting them to paper. As a lifelong writer and researcher, I can show you how to get your thoughts organized, identify a starting point (the first sentence is the hardest one), and logically follow your thoughts through.

You don't need an expansive or impressive vocabulary to be a successful writer, either.

I truly love language and am eager to help.

Writing is simply a way of thinking, and if you approach it that way, anyone can be effective. As a lifelong writer at all levels (journalism, speechwriting, essays, advertising, etc.), I know how organize thoughts and put them into print.
