Hi,
I am a university student in chemical engineering, so I have to know quite a bit of math and science for me to do well in this major! I am extremely passionate about math and science (especially chemistry in science, but I enjoy biology as well), and although I am not studying it, I am quite good at and love history, writing, and reading. I especially adore English grammar - in fact, I proofread scientific research papers before they are sent to scientific journals for publication quite regularly.
I tutored many students through high school - teachers and school counselors would often ask me to tutor some of their struggling students, particularly those that were struggling with basic math skills and therefore couldn't keep up with algebra, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus. I also tutored a lot of other students for Advanced Placement (AP) and the SAT/ACT exams. As you can see, I am very highly qualified and have a lot of experience in tutoring.
My basic approach to tutoring is to see why you are struggling. For most students, it is because they aren't quite up to scratch in fundamentals, and if that is the case I will focus on solidifying those with you. After that, I will work on the problems that not understanding fundamentals caused. If your fundamentals aren't the problem, usually a student doesn't understand something because it hasn't been explained in a way that they can understand, so I will do my best to find a way to best explain them to you. This method has worked with every single student I have tutored. I will NOT do your homework for you - I will simply try to help you learn enough so that you can complete it and, more importantly, understand it on your own.
I truly hope that you consider me for tutoring - I will do the absolute best job I can to help you succeed in your academic difficulties. There is nothing more that I enjoy than helping a struggling student.
