Next, we will set an achievable goal, such as to get through a set of problems, to review a concept, or to study for a test. The session will be spent working toward that goal. I have completed my BS in Management and MA in Education. I worked for several years in technical fields and have a strong foundation in applied mathematics and sciences. I can help you understand not only the fundamentals of concepts, but also the practical application of your subject.

Algebra 1

Algebra is a course in which basic algebraic concepts are introduced and mastered. Algebra 1 is taught at the high school level and occasionally at the middle school level to 8th grade students. Students learn how to solve for variables, how to manipulate integers, and how to graph and find equations for lines, bisectors, midpoints, and so on.

Algebra 2

High school algebra 2 requires students to dig deeper than the basic principles introduced in elementary algebra (algebra 1.) Algebra 2 introduces functions, f(x), quadratic equations and applications, parabolas, and trigonometric functions.

Students who lack a strong foundation in Algebra 1 tend to face challenges in Algebra 2. I can help with this, as I have several strategies and a very diverse background with both the educational and technical application of these skills.

Precalculus

College level precalculus is a tricky course for students, but it is not impossible. I strongly recommend finishing college level algebra before attempting precal.

If you are ready for precal and in need of a tutor, I can help. I use the book Precalculus, Functions and Graphs, 7th edition, by Swokowski and Cole. I also have a student solutions manual with full solution explanations.

Statistics

I am very comfortable with statistics. I finished the course with a solid A. Unfortunately, several students struggle with this course and never find the help they need. Please do not wait; get a tutor right away!

I use the book Statistics, a First Course, Seventh Edition. It is an older version for the course, but the information is still accurate and up to date. I would be happy to help you finish the course with a good grade.

ESL/ESOL

Learning English is a very complex process. It takes time, dedication, study, and lots of practice. Each ESL student is unique, with varying levels of skills and abilities.

I am not bilingual, but I am confident in my ability to communicate across the language divide and help students reach their goals with English. I have the most experience with lower and intermediate level English Speakers.

Proofreading

I am a University of Phoenix Alum, and have access to writing and proofreading tools through the University that aren't readily available to the public.

In addition, I wrote 2 papers per week for the duration of my Bachelor and Master's programs. (That totals many, many papers!) I was given very helpful feedback from my professors, and am eager to share their knowledge and insights with the next generation of students.

The ASVAB is a battery of skills test designed to identify approprate placement into a military job, or "rate." Higher scores enable prospective military personnel to select from a wider variety of rates. Lower scores limit the rate options. Scores which are not passing may prevent a person from joining the Armed Forces.
