Learning is about making connections and putting the puzzle pieces into place. I enjoy helping others discover how to make sense of whatever they are being challenged with.

My background is eclectic--I hold a MFA in directing and a BA in theatre arts; I recently completed a TESOL certificate; and I currently teach occupational and life skills courses (e.g. communication, career exploration, personal finance, office procedures & customer service, radio theatre) at a community college.

Tutoring starts as a collaboration. The goal is for you, ultimately, to learn the tools you need to take ownership and fly solo. Let’s collaborate!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Theatre

I earned a BA in Theatre Arts and MFA in Directing. While a graduate student I received 1 of 10 nationwide Honorable Mentions from ACTF for a production I directed and set designed. In addition to acting and directing, my graduate studies included practical experience in lighting and set design. After graduate school I taught acting for two years at a community college in Arizona.
