ADD/ADHD

I currently hold the Education Specialist Instructional Credential-Clear level II Mild/Moderate designation. This covers students with learning disabilities and those with ADD/ADHD. I have been involved with this particular population since 2005 and am able to adapt to the challenge they represent.Although these student present a more difficult population I'm definitely up to the task.

American History

My credential,Education Specialist Clear lever II covers students with mild/moderate disabilities along with general ed. students from grades K-12. I have been teaching these elementary subjects for the past 5 years in a non-public school. Even though it was non-public it still had to adhere to the curriculum standards of the district in which it was located. I know that I am capable of implementing this level of instruction.

Elementary (K-6th)

My credential,Education Specialist Clear lever II covers students with mild/moderate disabilities along with general ed. students from grades K-12. In delivering instruction on math concepts I am always on the lookout for new and interesting methods to implement to bring the subject to life for the particular individual involved.Being able to spark that interest is always a major factor in increasing the levels of concept retention.

Elementary Science

My credential, Education Specialist Clear lever II covers students with mild/moderate disabilities along with general ed. students from grades K-12. Phonics

I hold a credential authorizing the instruction of multiple subjects in grade levels k-12. This is an Education Specialist designation encompassing students with mild to moderate learning disabilities.My experience has been teaching all facets of language acquisition including phonics. This is an area where I can be of tremendous assistance to students who are showing weaknesses.

Reading

My credential,Education Specialist Clear lever II covers students with mild/moderate disabilities along with general ed. students from grades K-12. I have been teaching these elementary subjects for the past 5 years in a non-public school. Even though it was non-public it still had to adhere to the curriculum standards of the district in which it was located. I know that I am capable of implementing this level of instruction.

Social Studies

I have an Education Specialist credential clear level II which authorizes instruction to students with or without disabilities in grade levels k-12. This is a multiple subject authorization with History and Civics included. In all my prior placements I have taught Social Studies from 1st through 8th grade and feel more than qualified to provide a high level of instruction for grades 1-8. As I enjoy this subject above all others I will bring that personal enthusiasm to each lesson.

Special Needs

Spelling

I have been teaching these elementary subjects for the past 5 years in a non-public school. Even though it was non-public it still had to adhere to the curriculum standards of the district in which it was located. I know that I am capable of implementing this level of instruction. I find spelling to be one of my strengths and am very confident in my ability to offer assistance to all students.

Study Skills

I hold the Education Specialist credential, mild to moderate disabilities designation. The fact that this population is in most instances 2 or more years behind,makes study skills one of the most important aspects of their academic growth. This has been a major priority in teaching students with learning disabilities to create base from which learning can happen. The creation and implementation of positive work and planning habits is essential in the students advancement.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
