Hello future students,
Teaching is fun because it is very satisfying to help people improve their skills. English as a Second Language (ESL), writing, speaking/listening, reading, and interviewing skills are especially interesting to me, but I am proficient in many subjects. My teaching/tutoring background stems from teaching ESL in South Korea for four years ('94-'98) at a language school, a community college, and a university. Also, I taught intensive ESL classes at Bellevue College for one year before becoming an administrator and student advisor for international, F-1 visa students. I am also a private tennis instructor.
My education is as follows: Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology; Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Also, I have worked in many industries: education, health care, social service (mental health), and psychology research.
When I work with students, I really try to help students understand their goals. If goals are unclear, then we work together to make clear what needs to be accomplished. I work just as hard as my students and I do give homework. My style is direct but fair, I will honestly tell you and parents my opinion and recommendations or options. I respect all personal styles and I want to see people improve.
See you soon?
Take care.
