I am a finishing a Bachelor of Science, Mathematics Education Degree at Pacific Lutheran University. The final goal of becoming a teacher is in range, with the start of a Master's Degree and teacher certification starting in June. But, providing help to students that need is the true goal.
What can you really learn from someone who wants to be a teacher?
More than anything else, you can learn about passion. People become teachers because they care about others at least as much as they care about themselves. They become teachers because making a difference in the lives of others is their passion.
Math, Science and Theatre Arts?
It seems an odd combination, but upon inspection, is not as odd as it seems.
Math and Science are the means we use to communicate the nature of our world to one another. Having a better understanding of math gives us a better understanding of our natural world. That part of the world that we can measure. The part of our world that science seeks to describe.
Likewise, theatre is an advanced form of storytelling. And storytelling is how we communicate that part of our world that defies measurement.
