My teaching and tutoring experience comes primarily from the work I did as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Washington from 2008 until present. I also have extensive experience mentoring students. During my graduate studies, I have mentored the research activities of thirteen undergraduate, one master and two doctoral students.
Teaching and tutoring in academia is the process of passing on knowledge and skills to the next generation of scientists, engineers and researchers. Good tutoring ensures the continuous progress and advances in all fields of science and technology. I believe that science and engineering can be fun and interesting. Some aspects are initially difficult to conceptualize, but with practice and guidance students can think their way through any difficulties they might encounter. A student who is learning and enjoying the subject learns more. I feel that most students have the skills required to excel.
As a tutor my major goal for the students is to develop an understanding for the subject that allows them to actually use it as a tool. I am passionate about helping students improve in all academic subjects. I still remember my excitement when my statistics tutee received his first “A” on a quiz! I am confident that my passion and experience are the qualities you are looking for at WyzAnt Tutoring. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
